Peach Days

Brigham City, Utah

I’ve been living in Utah for about 7 years now (Crazy! Right?!) and I have never actually attended Peach Days. This is a big festival in Brigham City, Utah. I was so busy being in college and then I married myself a “Utahn” that he never really wanted to go. That’s what happens when you are born and raised in one place; you go to the same events over and over again. Well, our friends were going as a family and asked us to tag along. I love hanging out with them and their gorgeous little girl so of course we went. Here is everything that Peach Days has to offer for those new to the area.

Parade

The parade is a nice way to start off the morning. It is filled with excitement, cuteness, and candy. The trifecta of parades, right?! They started off by sending Mrs. Utah, Peach Day royalty, grand Marshall, and the commissioners. Then came local youth. Box Elder High School sent football, cheer, and dance teams down Main Street. Local programs featured includes dance, gymnastics, adoptable dogs, and veteran highlights. A nice inclusion was a walk of those to be remembered. Local members of the community that should be honored and remembered. Watching a parade with a toddler is even more of a delight. Candy and freebies were thrown in our direction and this cutie was waving at everyone that came by.

Shopping

I love a good pop-up tent on a Saturday morning. There is just something about walking the local park full of entrepreneurs selling unique products. Some cool finds in our group includes tumbler sippy cups (with Disney princesses of course!), some interactive books, and tiny bell-bottoms. Not to mention the Lego hat our friend “J” had to buy. It’s exactly what it sounds like. The hat has a Lego base with the pieces to make your chosen design, his was R2D2.

Food Trucks

I am such a foodie and food trucks are just so much better. You cannot go to a festival or carnival with eating some street food. Now, amusement parks are the exception but that’s a story for another day. The first thing I saw was the lemonade stand from an actual lemon. I just knew that I had to have some and boy was I right. This stand featured fresh lemonade in three flavors; traditional, strawberry, and of course peach. We had all three. Now, it is peach days but I am a sucker for fresh strawberry lemonade. I would pick strawberry first all day long but the peach was delicious to say the least. Now, lunch was different. There was so many trucks to choose from. I ended up choosing an empanada truck with Italian infusion. chef’s kiss I knew I had to dig right in so I only have a picture of one empanada.

Carnival Rides

Is it even a festival or carnival without rides?! Teacups, mini roller coasters, swings, and of course, the Ferris wheel. Whichever ride screams “classic festival” more is up for debate but having at least one is your way of knowing that it’s gonna be good.

Car Show

Car shows is very common in Utah. Every holiday, festival, or just plain weekend isn’t complete without one. This is always my husband’s favorite part. He could spend hours just walking around. I can spend it on a shady hill and looking from a distance while he needs to be up close to see every little detail. Now answer me this, how did I get the sunburn?! The coolest car that my group saw was a 1970 Boss 429 Mustang.

Show-stopping Peach Cobbler

If you don’t spend money for shopping or even lunch, you must at least end your day with peach cobbler. You cannot go to Peach Days without getting some of the famous peaches. It is a staple of peach days. This was actually my first peach cobbler myself. They offer it with cream or ice cream. On this hot and sunny day, ice cream was the perfect topping for me. Don’t believe me when I say how great this is?! Try it yourself at next year’s Peach Days.

Whether you attend every year like our friends, once in a while like my husband, or just once like me, Peach Days is a family fun event for all. If your furry family members want to come, make sure they are calm in public situations and that they have their sun protection as well.
